British astronaut Tim Peake showed that he has great taste in music when he recently tweeted from the International Space Station the lyrics to the song ‘Antarctica’ by Simon’s former band Sound of Guns. It was part of Tim’s #spacerocks tweets that he is sending out on a regular basis from the ISS and he posted it whilst passing over the Antarctica itself. Simon was a founding member of Sound of Guns who formed in 2008 and he composed music for various songs including Antarctica.
This recent stellar tweet comes after Tim’s colleague Tim Kopra had previously took a picture in the ISS of the album ‘Ocean Rain’ by another Liverpool band Echo and The Bunnymen. Simon was also a member of The Bunnymen between 2003 – 2006 having played on their tenth studio album ‘Siberia’.
